A Berry nice weekend...
I was lucky enough to enjoy a girls weekend in Berry recently, and it sure was filled with yummy food, fun shopping trips and delicious wine!
First stop was the cottage we had rented for the weekend. The Keepers Cottage is located in Prince Alfred Street and was built in the 1890's for the railway gatekeeper. You would think the name gave us a clue it would be next to the train line, but no,we discovered that when we arrived! Note to self, read the description, don't just book based on the charming pictures. The cottage is completely gorgeous, and in walking distance to pretty much everything in Berry, so not all was bad.
Our first stop on the Friday night was dinner at The Hungry Duck. A modern asian restaurant showcasing local, organic produce. Amazing. Can't rave about the food and service enough. It's a definite must visit when you're in Berry.
Saturday was filled with shopping, and of course we had to visit Haven and Space for a spot of homewares and furniture shopping. Yes, one of the girls bought an amazing armchair. Bags aside, that chair was coming home with us - no boot was too small! I may have also come home with a new rug and fruit bowl. I really restrained myself don't you think?
Dinner on Saturday night was at Mezzadella's - a more casual vibe, with delicious tapas and woodfired pizza's. Oh, and Espresso Martini's. When in Rome right? We practically rolled out after we topped of the meal with Churros.
We saved the best until last. After checkout we made our way on Sunday morning to the Berry Sourdough cafe. Holy Moly! BOWLS of coffee and Nutella and strawberry french brioche toast. Had we gone to heaven? It appeared we had! Check it out below.
So there you have it, a girls guide to Berry! The only question i'm asking is when can i go back?
Thanks for the love xx
